#10 – God Desired to be with us
No matter how long or how short trips away from my family are I desire to get home, fast. Whether it's just a weekend or multiple weeks away I want to get home to see my daughter. Last week I was gone to Super Summer in Shawnee, OK, this was the first week long trip I've taken since my daughter has been mobile. One evening I was talking to Lisa (my wife) and se said she had been talking about me, my wife not my daughter. She had been counting down the days till I would be home, "Daddy will be home in, two days". My daughter just caught the word, "Daddy" and started looking around the room looking for me.
Why do we think God is any different? God wants to be with us more than even I want to be with my family.
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
James 2:23 "And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend."
How great is it to know that when I feel so alone that God wants to spend time with me, when I am away from him that he longs for me to come back. God Desires Us

I always tell every expecting parent to be prepared for their spiritual life to change when the baby arrives. You look at EVERYTHING in a whole new perspective. Easter and Christmas are never the same because you have a better understanding of how God felt about it all. (Personally, I can't make it through either of the two seasons anymore without bawling my eyes out!) You understand more about who God the Father really is. I think it's a perspective that those without children can never fully understand. --Denise
